On September 26-28, 2025, 11 young swimmers from two local clubs proudly competed at the Bayview Pirates Swim Meet in Barbados, joining nearly 300 athletes from 12 teams.
Representing their clubs were:
• Bring It Swim Team (Nevis) – 6 swimmers
• Blue Marlin Swim Academy (St. Kitts) – 5 swimmers
Every swimmer rose to the occasion, delivering personal best performances and gaining valuable experience as they work toward the OECS Swimming Championships in November. This meet was an important step in their preparation — providing both race practice in a high-level field in a competition pool and opportunities to meet qualifying standards.
Highlights from the meet:
Teadrian Tross (9–10, Bring It) – Earned three silver medals (100m Free, 50m Free, 50m Breast) and achieved several new personal bests. Although Teadrian had already secured OECS qualifying times at a recent time trial, this meet reconfirmed his qualification.
Gaj Leonce (9–10, Blue Marlin) – Delivered a stellar all-around swim meet, recording personal bests and securing OECS qualifying times in four events: 50m Free, 50m Back, 50m Fly, and 100m IM.
Austin Williams (13–14, Bring It) – Achieved OECS qualifying times in the 50m Breaststroke while also swimming personal bests in all his races. A strong performance that reflects his steady progress and commitment.
Edith Denne (7–8, Bring It) – Not required to qualify at her age, Edith achieved OECS qualifying times in the 100m IM, 50m Free, and 100m Free, all while lowering her personal bests and placing top 8 in all her races.
Juden Connor (6 & under, Bring It) – At his first-ever pool meet, placed 4th in the 25m Breast & 25m Back, 6th in the 25m Free, and won a 3rd-place overall trophy in his age category!
Valentino Esposito (11–12, Blue Marlin) – Delivered impressive personal bests across his events, highlighted by a blazing 30.66s in the 50m Free. A standout swim that shows his speed and growing potential.
Saulo Sahely (11–12, Blue Marlin) – Lowered all his personal bests with strong, consistent performances throughout the meet.
Abhijith Srinivasan (13–14, Bring It) – Made a big splash at his first overseas meet, showing great determination and lowering all his personal bests.
Marlie McDaniel (11–12, Blue Marlin) – Powered through her races, lowering times and recording new personal bests, showing that hard work pays off.
Greyson Burrell (11–12, Blue Marlin) – Delivered confident swims and achieved new personal bests in every event, showing both progress and growing confidence.
Akimba Cornelius (7–8, Bring It) – Smashed his previous times from May, setting new personal bests in every race. An exciting performance that shows the future is very bright for this young swimmer.
